This desktop feature will allow Instagram creators to post, measure, manage and monetise content across all pages and Instagram accounts, all in one place.

Creator Studio, a feature available on Facebook pages that allows users to manage and filter uploads from pages, get insights on content and upload multiple videos at the same time, has now added a new Instagram scheduling feature for posts and IGTV.

So, how does it work?

1. Connecting your account

In order to correctly connect your accounts, you will need to have your Instagram account switched to a business profile/creator account and have it connected to the Facebook page that you manage.

To schedule your posts you will need to connect it to your Creator Studio dashboard by clicking Instagram accounts.

Then you will need to add your account by clicking on the top right-hand side of the screen.

Once you are connected you will then be taken to your content library which gives you the option to view all your content or view it in separate sections such as video, photo, carousel, stories and IGTV.

In addition, there’s an option at the top left to select all accounts, view specific ones or individual accounts.

The content library also shows the status of each post, whether it’s published or scheduled, as well as the date, time, and number of likes and comments on each post.

2. Scheduling posts

After you are all set up, to schedule a post you will need to click the ‘create post’ click the top left-hand corner. You will then be given an option of Instagram feed or IGTV, and you’ll be able to choose which one of the connected accounts that you’d like to post from.

After choosing the correct account, you should upload your square image at the recommended dimensions of 1080px x 1080px.

When creating a caption, you are limited to 2200 characters, 30 mentions and 30 hashtags. There are additional features are that you can to your posts which is add location tags and emojis.

And, you can set the date and time you want to post, and it’s good to know that posts must be shared between 10 minutes and 6 months from when you create them.

3. Insights

Another useful feature in Creator Studio is insights for your posts, stories and IGTV. However, you will only be able to view the insights for the content that has been posted using Creator Studio.

The insights feature is split into two sections: activity and audience.

Activity shows…

  • Your account activity during a 7-day period
  • Interactions - any actions taken on your account including: Website visits, profile visits, calls, texts, emails and get directions
  • Accounts reached and the number of impressions you achieved (number of times your posts have been seen)

Audience shows…

  • Your followers by age, gender or both
  • Days and hours of when your followers are on Instagram
  • The top countries where your followers are located
  • The top town/cities where your followers are located

This update to Creator Studio is useful in collating both Facebook and Instagram business accounts analytics and scheduling. And, it makes Instagram scheduling just that little bit easier.
